Many holiday companies such as Thomson Holidays and Thomas Cook offer their own chartered Tenerife flights while scheduled ones are available with airlines BA and Monarch.

The island uses the Euro. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted. Some establishments accept Sterling, but they often give a poor rate of exchange. Banks will exchange Sterling for Euros, and the main towns for holidays in Tenerife have foreign exchange bureaus - the airport rates are usually higher than in banks and resort facilities.

Language

Spanish, English and German are widely understood and spoken - and cheap Tenerife flight availability is wide with British, German and Spanish airlines, many taking off from regional airports.

Visas

Spain is a member of the EU and EU citizens do not require a visa to visit, UK visitors will need a valid passport when disembarking their Tenerife flights to clear passport control. For non EU visitors please check with your local Spanish Embassy for visa requirements.

Holidays

The cost of a trip needn't be expensive if you compare the different airfares online - in fact it needn't cost more than any of the other popular destinations if you do a bit of research and it's perfectly possible to get a cheap flight to Tenerife all year round, even in the peak winter and summer months, ensuring that with some good deals for Tenerife hotels around that a trip needn't break the bank.

Villas

As well as traditional hotel based trips, a good number of people take villa holidays and to many it's a surprise that the cost of Tenerife villa holidays is comparable, and sometimes when there's a group of people travelling together it can be less.

With some of the bigger companies having deals with the airlines Tenerife flights are often the same price as when booked independently.
