The island of Tenerife uses the Euro. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted. Some establishments accept Sterling, but they often give a poor rate of exchange. Banks will exchange Sterling for Euros, and the main towns in Tenerife have foreign exchange bureaus (as with most airports, the Tenerife airports have exchange bureaus but the rates aren’t that good).

Language
Spanish, English and German are widely understood and spoken in Tenerife - and flights to Tenerife are available with British, German and Spanish airlines, with Tenerife flights from many regional airports.
Visas
Spain is a member of the EU and EU citizens do not require a visa to visit Tenerife. For non EU visitors please check with your local Spanish Embassy for visa requirements.
