Holidays In Tenerife
The Canary Islands play host to millions of tourists per year. The year round
mild climate makes Tenerife the perfect holiday destination any time of year.
Tenerife is the largest of the Canaries and has so much to offer her holiday
visitors. The landscape of Tenerife alone is an amazing site to behold. The
northern side of the island provides lush, beautiful vegetation. The central
area around Mt. Teide is often referred to as an almost alien landscape due
to the unusual volcanic formations. The southern side of Tenerife is dry and
almost desert like – Tenerife holidays can be diverse!
Black Sand Beaches
Like her landscape, the island offers a variety of beaches for those taking
holidays in Tenerife. Natural, volcanic black sand beaches provide a stark contrast
with crystal blue waters. The rough terrain of shingle and rock beaches gives
adventurers a great place to snorkel and enjoy the unusual landscape. Other
man-made beaches have been created from sand imported from nearby Africa's
Sahara Desert. Each type of beach is sure to leave a lasting impression of quality,
cleanliness and enjoyment for those on their Tenerife holidays.
Water sports
Tenerife is home to several locally owned water sports adventure companies.
Whether you enjoy parascending, parasailing, jet skiing, diving or boating,
Tenerife have them all for while you are on your Tenerife holiday! Tenerife's
waters have no speed limit for jet skiers and provide year round fun and excitement
for adrenaline junkies. Yachters may rent a yacht and skipper, or if you have
your license, just rent the yacht and enjoy the day away from land.
Fishing guides can take you big game fishing as part of your Tenerife holidays
experience, sports fishing or reservoir carp fishing with a guaranteed catch.
Guided or non-guided tours are available for boaters and divers. Submarine tours
are available for adventurers who wish to explore marine life in its natural
habitat. You can even enjoy helicopter rides if you prefer above-land tours
during your holidays in Tenerife.
Land activities
Land-lubbers who don't enjoy water sports, don't worry! Theme parks
are a great way to while away the hours and enjoy your holiday in Tenerife.
Some companies offer safaris, tours and several other land-based activities.
Horseback riding, 4-wheeling, motorbike riding, cycling, golfing, hiking and
go-kart racing are among some of the favourite Tenerife holiday activities.
Hiking excursions to Mount Teide are very popular and offer amazing views from
the top!
Theme Parks
Although Tenerife is an
island with numerous beaches, water parks are in great abundance. Siam Park,
the largest water park in Europe, is one of the most exciting water parks on
the island. Siam offers a wide variety of rides and attractions for children
and older visitors alike during a Tenerife holiday. Aquapark is an adventure
park that allows visitors to view dolphin shows while the trainers share educational
information about these amazing animals. Camel Park is fun for visitors of all
ages. They provide visitors the unique experience of walking among and riding
on camels.
And Tenerife holidays can
be educational for children and adults alike – another example is Eagle
Park home to many more animal and bird species than the name indicates. The
park is named for the numerous eagle shows the park presents each day. Loro
Park is located near Puerto de la Cruz; other than the park entrance fee, all
shows are completely free of charge – there’s a cheap Tenerife
holidays activity!
Nightlife
Tenerife has a reputation
for her nightlife, and it’s often what attracts the younger holiday maker
to the island, knowing that a cheap Tenerife holiday is fine because they’re
going to be out all night, so the accommodation isn’t important –
cheap is good probably!
But there’s more
to Tenerife at night than that.
Whether you're in search
of family or adult entertainment, each area of Tenerife has something to offer.
The Patch in Playa de las
Americas is an example of an area that offers nightlife of all types to enjoy
while on a holiday in Tenerife – it’s a commercial centre with several
bars, restaurants and shops. Entertainment includes such fun as cabaret and
karaoke bars. Most bars in this area are child-friendly and serve food during
the daytime. Veronicas and Starco are two other areas that are situated very
close to each other. Bars and clubs in these areas don't charge a cover
charge and most are open until 4 a.m.
But don’t forget
if you’re on your holidays in Tenerife that if you stay up all night you
won’t get to see the rest of the island – but then you could always
return for more Tenerife holidays another time!
