Hotel Arona Gran, Los Cristianos Regarded as one of Los Cristianos’ better hotels, the Arona Gran is located close to the beach, and has access to the beach from the hotel. Many of the rooms have sea views. Two good size swimming pools and a gym. The satellite televisions in each room carry BBC1, 2 and ITV plus Sky Sports, plus BBC News24.

Supermarket closeby, and walkable to the town’s amenities, but not central. Good staff and good cleanliness standards. Food good.

Downside – timeshare touts with attitude, no tea and coffee making facilites in some rooms. Some guests ‘reserving’ pool side loungers at 7am. Maybe not for people with young children. Overall, one of the better hotels in Tenerife.

Aparthotel Columbus, Playa De Las Americas Located just a mile from the centre of Playa de las Americas and 12 miles from the airport (Reina Sofia), this is one of the Tenerife hotels that has been popular in the past and remains one of the most popular hotels in Tenerife today.

The hotel has over 400 apartments, two pools, and various amenities for the family to enjoy, and is also close to a good beach, about 700 yards walk. This is one of the Tenerife hotels that might be worth considering if you have children as it has a free bus shuttle to the waterpark.

Overall, the rooms are clean and the staff good, but if you’re looking for a peaceful holiday consider one of the other Tenerife hotels as sometimes there’s quite a few parties of friends in their late teens, who come in at all hours, and aren’t the quitest of guests.

Hotel Bahia Princess, Costa Adeje One of the Tenerife hotels considered both to be luxury, and one of the good hotels in Tenerife for a family holiday. Located in a quiet area but convenient too for getting to the amenities of Playa de las Americas, the Bahia Princess Tenerife hotel has three swimming pools – one of which is heated in the winter holiday months, table tennis, tennis courts, a sauna and live evening entertainment. Overall the hotel is in a good location near a good beach, the staff are good, and the rooms are kept clean. One of the hotels in Tenerife worth considering.

Las Piramedes Apartments, Playa De Las Americas The Piramedes is an alternative to conventional Tenerife hotels in that it is self catering. It’s well located and just 500 metres from many of Palya de las Americas’ facilities and 800 metres from the beach. The apartment buildings have a launderette and consists of 57 studio and one bedroom apartments. Summer time it’s livey to say the least, with many groups of friends staying there. If you’re after a cheap holiday this is generally cheaper than most of the hotels in Tenerife. But often cheap means nasty, and sometimes the Piramedes can be just that. Cheap yes, but it’s taking a bit of a risk by some accounts.
